FRWA ANNUAL AWARDS

The Florida Rural Water Association (FRWA) Board of Directors and Staff are pleased to announce that ten Water and Wastewater Awards will be presented at the FRWA 2024 Annual Conference to be held at the Daytona Beach Hilton on July 29-31, 2024.  The awards will be presented during the FRWA Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, July 30th. The award categories and minimum criteria are as follows:

1. MANAGER/ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR

2. SYSTEM OFFICE EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

3. WASTEWATER OPERATOR OF THE YEAR

  • Must possess Active Certification in the State of Florida
  • Must be in compliance with the Department of Environmental Protection (Rule 61E12-41)
  • Must be employed by a current FRWA Member System

4. DRINKING WATER OPERATOR OF THE YEAR

  • Must possess Active Certification in the State of Florida
  • Must be in compliance with the Department of Environmental Protection (Rule 61E12-41)
  • Must be employed by a current FRWA Member System

5. DISTRIBUTION/COLLECTION OPERATOR OF THE YEAR

  • Must be a separate position other than a water or wastewater treatment plant operator
  • Must be in compliance with the Department of Environmental Protection
  • Must be employed by a current FRWA Member System

6. SMALL PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM OF THE YEAR (serving a population < 3,300 residents)

  • Must have a state certified drinking water operator
  • Must be in compliance with the State of Florida
  • Must be a current FRWA member in good standing

7. MEDIUM PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM OF THE YEAR (serving a population >3,300)

  • Must have a state certified drinking water operator
  • Must be in compliance with the State of Florida
  • Must be a current FRWA member in good standing

8. SMALL WASTEWATER SYSTEM OF THE YEAR (serving a population < 3,300 residents)

  • Must have a state certified wastewater operator
  • Must be in compliance with the State of Florida
  • Must be a current FRWA member in good standing

9. MEDIUM WASTEWATER SYSTEM OF THE YEAR (serving a population > 3,300 residents)

  • Must have a state certified wastewater operator
  • Must be in compliance with the State of Florida
  • Must be a current FRWA member in good standing

10. FRWA SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARD

For State, Federal, or other agency personnel from DEP, DOH, or Water Management District, PSC, RD, etc. for positive support of water/wastewater industry, nominated by water system, fellow workers, or peers

If you would like to place your system and/or employee name in nomination for any of these awards Complete the the awards nomination form by clicking here and return it by Friday, July 5, 2024.  Awards for each of the ten categories will be presented based upon a satisfactory number of nominees.  The FRWA Awards Review Committee will then review all nominees and may conduct an on-site evaluation of the system/personnel.  Please submit your nominations to Jim Cagno at Jim.Cagno@frwa.net or mail your form to:
